A hidden champion

Since 1956, Georg Rieger GmbH from Gaggenau has been a pioneer in mechanical and tool engineering for musical instrument production. Discover the history and success story of a toolmaking company that has made a name for itself worldwide.

1956 -1960

With the support of his bassoon teacher
Georg Rieger, a trained toolmaker, manufactured the first tools and machines for bassoon reed construction. Initially, he exclusively used them for his own purposes.

1961 -1973

With the first handcrafted bassoon planers, a small factory was established in the shed. As production grew, the first workshop extension became necessary.

1974-1984

Georg Rieger finally takes the leap into self-employment and undertakes further expansion measures in order to be able to accommodate machines and materials accordingly.

1985

Georg Rieger's son, Johann Rieger, joined the company as a master mechanical engineer in order to meet the increasing demand for tools, machines and cane.

1990

The company Georg Rieger becomes Georg Rieger GmbH

2000-2024

The company relocates to the Bad Rotenfels industrial park. With five permanent employees and two temporary workers, the company sells tools and machines worldwide. The products are constantly being technically developed, with particular attention to quality, durability, and functionality.
